Core Foundation has announced the expansion of its Dual BTC Staking solution in Asia via a collaboration with Cobo, a prominent digital asset custodian in the Asia-Pacific region. This integration aims to enhance institutional access to Bitcoin staking and promote sustainable yields within the growing digital asset ecosystem.
Through this partnership, Cobo’s institutional clients will gain seamless access to Core’s Dual BTC Staking model directly from their custody accounts. The collaboration is intended to facilitate institutional adoption of Bitcoin staking while upholding self-custodial principles. By leveraging Cobo’s infrastructure, Core aims to help institutions maximize sustainable Bitcoin yields by staking both Bitcoin and CORE tokens.
Brendon Sedo, Initial Contributor at Core, highlighted the significance of this integration, stating that it enhances the Core ecosystem by onboarding liquidity from high-caliber institutional clients. He emphasized Cobo’s expertise in secure blockchain solutions as a crucial factor in driving the adoption of Bitcoin staking.
Cobo’s CTO, Changhao Jiang, noted that their collaboration builds on previous successful partnerships, enabling institutions to stake substantial amounts of Bitcoin securely and efficiently. The integration aims to further advance institutional access to scalable Bitcoin yields, thereby fostering broader adoption of BTC staking solutions.
Long-term Bitcoin yields
Key benefits of this partnership include access to Core’s self-custodial solutions, which allow institutions to maintain control over their assets while mitigating counterparty risks. The Dual Staking model offers the potential for long-term Bitcoin yields, supported by real blockchain activity. Additionally, the integration simplifies the onboarding process for institutions, facilitating efficient participation in Bitcoin staking.
Cobo has redefined institutional interactions with blockchain technologies, pioneering the first Bitcoin Staking API in the industry. This innovation enables institutions to incorporate staking capabilities into their operations securely. Since its establishment, Cobo has managed significant transaction values for a diverse range of institutional clients.
Core has also launched a non-custodial Bitcoin staking protocol that has secured over 6,200 BTC. As the only end-to-end BTC finance solution, Core combines a Bitcoin staking yield product with a smart contract platform secured by Bitcoin miners. This approach has already achieved approximately 76% of Bitcoin’s hashrate delegated to its security.
With a growing ecosystem of over 150 EVM-compatible decentralized applications, Core is attempting to position itself as a leading Bitcoin scaling solution, boasting hundreds of thousands of daily active users and substantial total value locked. The introduction of Dual Staking and related products further solidifies Core’s presence in the market.
